Find out about our student support services such as the advisor system and a confidential student counselling centre. We have learning centres 1in Languages, Maths, Science and IT to provide support to students in their learning of these subjects. What sets us apart, however, is the genuinely student-oriented nature of our campus. UL is committed to developing and promoting initiatives which encourage the participation of under-represented students in higher education. The Access Office, Disability Office, and the Mature Student Office help to extend the University's reach to persons who otherwise might not have had the opportunity of obtaining a university education. At UL, you won't feel like a number - you'll find it easy to fit in and find your place in our campus community.

6. International programmes:
UL has actively participated in the EU's SOCRATES programme since 1988 and now has upwards of 192 partner institutions in 22 EU countries. 8. Location, location, location:
2At the University of Limerick, our superb riverside campus is set on 130 hectares of lush parkland, where the River Shannon meets the sea. We provide a wide choice of accommodation, either on campus or within easy reach of the University. You can walk to college from where you live. Come and visit during our Open Days and see for yourself!

9. On-campus accommodation:
Living on campus is one of the best ways to enjoy university life. There's a friendly atmosphere throughout UL with so many students living on campus. We have 5 purpose-built student villages providing 2400 rooms on campus. Each student has his/her own room ensuite in a modern 6-bedroom apartment. All apartments are equipped for cable TV and each room has a PC link to the internet. The locations of all 5 villages are excellent and close to all bars, shops, restaurants and banks.

"Coop" facilitates the career development of UL students as an integral part of their academic programme, and to be the preferred source for employers recruiting students or graduates. UL has one of the largest Cooperative Education programmes in the EU. One third of placements are international, primarily in North America, Europe and South East Asia. This paid work placement enables you to "hit the ground running" after graduation and gives you a great platform when making the transition from college to the workplace.
